Manresa CF and Sant Andreu played out a 2-2 draw in their league meeting, a result that leaves both teams with a point apiece and plenty to reflect on. Sant Andreu arrived with slightly more attacking intent on paper, and the underlying numbers from this contest support the idea that the visitors carried the greater share of forward momentum, even if the scoreline stayed level.
Possession was almost perfectly split, with Sant Andreu edging it at 51% to Manresa CF's 49%. That small margin matters less than what each side did with the ball. Sant Andreu built 140 attacks to Manresa's 124, a clear sign of their willingness to push forward and sustain pressure in the final third. The visitors also won eight corners compared to just three for Manresa CF, underlining how often they forced the game into dangerous set-piece situations. For anyone weighing up a Manresa CF vs Sant Andreu prediction before kickoff, the corner count and attack volume would have pointed toward Sant Andreu as the more proactive side.
Where the game truly explains itself is in the shooting numbers. Manresa CF managed only one shot on target across the entire match, with three further efforts off target. Sant Andreu registered two shots on target and three off target. Neither team was clinical, and the low volume of accurate attempts on both sides tells the story of a scrappy, tightly contested fixture rather than a free-flowing spectacle. Manresa's single on-target shot converting into part of a two-goal haul reflects efficiency rather than dominance, while Sant Andreu's extra corner and attack count shows they created more repeated entries into threatening areas without turning them into clear chances.
Discipline and game management added another layer. Sant Andreu picked up four yellow cards to Manresa's one, a reflection of the physical approach they needed to contain their hosts and disrupt rhythm. The visitors were also caught offside four times, against zero for Manresa, which points to an aggressive attacking line that repeatedly pushed the limits of the defensive trap. Manresa, by contrast, stayed disciplined positionally and committed 16 free kicks to Sant Andreu's 11, suggesting they were the side forced into more reactive fouls when the visitors broke forward. Throw-ins were identical at 22 each, while Manresa took nine goal kicks to Sant Andreu's five, hinting at more wayward clearances or longer defensive phases from the home side.
Tactically, the draw is a fair reflection of a match where neither team established sustained control. Sant Andreu's greater attack count, corner superiority and slightly higher possession made them the more assertive side, but their four offsides and four bookings show a team that struggled to convert territorial pressure into clean finishing. Manresa CF, for their part, did well to stay level despite creating so little in front of goal, leaning on set-piece situations and disciplined shape. When reviewing H2H stats and recent form, this performance suggests Sant Andreu are the more expansive team but remain vulnerable to lapses in concentration, while Manresa are compact and hard to break down but lack cutting edge in open play. The scoreline does not flatter either side; it simply confirms that on this occasion, effort and territory were evenly matched by wastefulness in the final third.
